Our Golf Course - Capital Hills at Albany
Formerly known as The New Course at Albany, this difficult course is hilly and
extremely well maintained. The fast greens are well bunkered and large, and the
fairways are tree lined. The course was redesigned in 1993 to bring back the
original Devereux Emmet design for the Albany Municipal Golf Course, which this
course opened as in 1929.
In 2001 Mayor Jennings announced a $1.6 million dollar renovation of the golf course by well
renowned designer Rick Jacobson. The four year project completely renovated the green side bunkers and
added new fairway bunkers throughout the entire course. The course was also lengthened by adding new tee
bunkers on holes 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 and 13. The results have made Capital Hills
one of the most scenic courses in the Capital District and one of the nicest public
golf courses in upstate New York.
